Jumping on the scales
With spring being mostly underway, many of us are anticipating the shedding of layers and the eventual donning of shorts, t-shirts and swimsuits. Checking your weight has some value. It’s funny how much power we give the scale, isn’t it? A few pounds down can make our day whereas a stagnant weight, or heaven forbid, a gain, can have us reeling in despair.
Looking at one’s weight is a useful tool. There’s a better way to monitor your progress, however. Measuring body composition (muscle mass, water and fat, etc.) is much more valuable in terms of really knowing if you’re making progress. Simply looking at weight can be very misleading. The fact is, if you start working out you may gain muscle mass and lose body fat. If the scale is your only tool, you may find your weight stays the same and become discouraged.
This month (April 1st – 30th, 2019), we are offering our body composition test at 50% off our usual price. Ten dollars gets you a full read-out of how much muscle, fat, and water is in your body. The BIA (bio impedance analysis) also gives you information about where your body water is distributed. Furthermore, it will give an indication of what your overall cellular health looks like – a health score – if you will.
I will review your results with you and happily share the latest shortcuts to improving your internal health. There are very few health care facilities that offer this kind of insight to what is going on with the inner workings of your body. Changes you make based on the results of this test can dramatically impact longevity and well-being! If you’re interested, just call the office and say you would like to schedule a BIA. We’ll take it from there!
